Carrera 2.7RS thread

Rather than watch my 918 slowly slip away into the evening, I thought I’d focus on what I did win. Anyone done any testing yet? I’m drifting to 699, looks like a lightweight specialist if anything.

Midrange is decent. Better than the rq 20 911 Carrera, but it still loses on drags and every track. Honestly this thing shouldn't even be at rq 20 when you got that Lancia 037 at rq 18

Haven’t upgraded it past one fuse on the chassis but I think you're right 033/699 will be the way I think.

Disappointing but not unexpected. It would be nice if the lower class prize cars were Top of their class, like the Lancia. Would create more genuine excitement and competition for them.

What do you mean by “ loses every track” against the 911?
It’s not going to be a jack of all trades but it’s going to be very good at Gforce and Slalom once maxed.

I've got mine 1.3/2.3/2.3 right now.  I can provide track times later this evening, if someone else hasn't by then.  We'll just need someone to provide 2.3/1.3/2.3 times then.

It would be really helpful if you could run it on all the tracks in Bavaria set 7 as I think they play to it’s strengths then we can compare it to some of it's contemporaries.

Agreed. I think in this case, the 2.7RS is a prize car simply because it's so iconic. I'll keep mine but will probably only ever get it out in 70s events.

Am I reading it right that it only lost in the rolling slalom?

Also, those Fast Circuit times are vastly different.  Surely one is rolling start versus standing start?

Surprised at the Gforce figures. 🤔

Yeah I think the G force and Fast C must be different tracks.  If @sinner will let me know for sure which tracks they are I will run it again.

Thanks for starting this thread! I really appreciate all the test numbers. Mine is @336 so far (broke).

I must have read those Gforce & Circuit results ten times thinking I was confused. 366 is looking good. I wonder how much variance is involved within the final step.

Thanks so much for this thread guys. We should do this for all "Poor men's Prize Car" in the future lol

Mine is still at 000 as I run out of C class food but I believe we will figure out the best tune for this in no time, like the 037.

699 is looking good so far I must say.

I don't know about upgraded times but it is slower than the 911 carrera on slalom and gforce when they're both stock. I assume the carrera would still be better when they're maxxed in the similar ways. I never expected it to be a jack of all trades, I just don't think it should be at rq 20.

I cant remember which tracks i used. So just retested

    Fast C - Milan 6 - 1:09.03 (same time)
Gforce - UK 5 - 23.23 (different time. This was standing start)

    @bullet_splatter ;

Looks like a 033 all the way

That’s strange then, everything would suggest the 2.7 would win those track sets quite easily.
