KTM 330

I have R and RR versions that I plan to max out. Red a lot in both forums about them and most are maxed 033. Unfortunately the car loses in all twisties to caterhams and lotses anyway.
One thing it's much better in is mid range acceleration. For example 033 beats camaro in 1/4 and 1/2 mile. It Also beats 330 amg gt at 1/4 mile and plenty other epics at 1/4 and 1/2 mile.
so I'm thinking about maxing one out 330. What do u think about it? Has anyone tried it?

You have the R or the RR?
  • TGPDTGPD Posts: 6,067 ✭✭✭✭✭
If your goal is to be the best at drags, get a TVR.
  • 43MK443MK4 Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭✭✭
As it says I have R version and RR version. I don't think epic TVRs can beat it at 1/4 mile and will get destroyed at big majority of other races. Don't have any TVRs anyway.

    Tuscan Convertible 330 (RQ22 B class)
    1/4: 11:56
    1/2: 18:26
    1: 29:90
    033
    1/4: 11:70
    1/2: 18:46
    1: 30:16
    Stock
    1/4: 12:46
    1/2: 19:53
    1: 31:66
You don't actually need an epic TVR anyways...

I'm not sure I get your point. That Tuscan is slower than camaro 033 which does 1/4 in 11,5 and 1/2 18,06. And ktm beats camaro.

really? I'll test my 033 X-Bow right now.
  • TGPDTGPD Posts: 6,067 ✭✭✭✭✭
    KTM 033:
    1/4: 11:26
    1/2: 18:06
    1: 30:70
Yes. Sir. Do yours 330 now.

Any other feedback from forum ppl is very welcome. I must say I'm not fully convinced yet. As a f2p I don't wanna mess up an epic.

303 it wins a lot on speed alone I'd deffinly do 330 on my next rather than 033
  • 43MK443MK4 Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭✭✭
@bobdylan could u tell me 1/4 and 1/2 mile times for your gt? R and RR versions have identical drag times. GT is a bit slower I assume but wonder if your 303 GT can beat 033 R/RR in drag.

    1/4 : 10:23
    1/2 : 18:83
    1m : 30:96

I have an RR at 2.3/2.3/2.3. I will wait until we can come to a conclusion.

I think im going 303 with my RR, as I already have it 2,2,3. Anyone have one tuned like this? I think its maxed stats are 3.2 0-60 and 99 grip when 303
  • 43MK443MK4 Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭✭✭

1/4 mile in 10,23? Wow, thats fast. Much faster than R/RR 033 which is 10,86 (from what I was informed).

10,23 is exactly same time as 12C 1.3/2.3/1.3

Yes X-bows will lose to caterham and lotus on dry karting, slalom etc., but they win on wet, cause of abs and traction. Actually I was thinking thats the only point of having them, before to see here they are usable for drags

Yes Its actually my desperate attempt to find a use for these cars. I have just seen too many of them maxed out at 033 ending up collecting dust in the garage.

I use my X-Bows in tandem with the 2-11 S'Charged for rain. Caterhams might be strong on dry tracks, but they suffer on rain.
    My use of these cars:
    Caterham: Twisty tracks
    Lotus: Wet twisty tracks
    KTM: Collecting dust

The Lotus works really good in wet rain. Better than the KTM. But not on drags though... KTM has better mid-range

What we need to know is will a 330 xbow beat 033 caterhams in the wet across the board .

That way there 330 sprint ability in the dry balance vs caterhams handeling dominance.

It might only beat the Cat in drags and fast circuit. No chance in karting.
In the wet though there's a bigger chance for the KTM in the twisty circuits or twisty road.

I recently raced 0 to 150 a KTM GT tuned to 3/0/3 with my Merc GT3 and I was surprised by the GT. Of the line it got about 5 car lengths ahead of my GT3 up until it hit around 120mph. After that my GT3 took over but I'd say they would make pretty good 1/4 mile cars if you want to specialize yours to speed.

@TGPD @bobdylan I was looking at the 1/4 mile times provided by you guys and something looks quite strange.
TGDPs maxed 033 (which model?) is doing a 1/4 in 11,26.
bobdylans maxed 303 GT is doing a 1/4 in 10,23.
1,03s difference is quite impossible. Or is engine upgrade making such a huge difference? Could you recheck the results?

    X-Bow R 033:
    1/4 mile: 11.26
    1/2 mile: 18.06
    1 mile: 30.70
I think Bobdylan has typed it wrong, it must be 11.23

I was told by @Goodhews89 on IG forum that his 033 R is going 1/4 in 10,86.

@TGPD which campaign track did u use to measure 11,26? I recall from some event that some tracks have a bugged distance.

The Monaco variant is the only one with different distance (except Tokyo variant which isn’t in the campaign). But, there are some with rolling start (West Coast 6.1, Nevada 6.1, and NY 2.1).
