So, lets check how are 4wd dynamics on hills now.

@Hutch_Tim  Can you explain exactly what traction adjustment was made for tires and slopes and/or surfaces?

"Even with this steepness adjustment, there were unexpected results in the poll, in particular a McLaren 12C could get up a 36% gradient dirt hill, and a Ford Scorpio had a similar profile to a Land Rover Defender Mk1. Investigating this, we found traction wasn’t correctly handled on slopes, so this has now also been fixed."

@Hutch_Tim  Also, about the Hill Climb bonus changes, is this across the board (all high ground clearance) or car specific (for example the Mercedes 6x6 gets a higher bonus).  Any detailed info would be greatly appreciated.

"Finally, some cars have a “hill climb bonus”; this gives them additional power when climbing hills to represent factors the physics model doesn’t handle in detail (for example, higher ground clearance should help on hills; having 6 tires should also help a bit!) With the fix from PL7.0, this factor was no longer as strong as it should have been, so hill climb bonuses have been improved."

maybe it will be better if you push a malus and not a bonus!! ;)

the result of chevrolet orlando seems incredible! :open_mouth:

And a nerf to the 0-60 acceleration??

  • TopDrives40778TopDrives40778 Member Posts: 1,317 ✭✭✭✭✭
I actually think all of those results seem very credible for the dry dirt hillclimb - the Orlando has traction control, standard tires and is much faster (and it did not win by a lot)

I believe it used to reach at least 200mph on the 1 mile drag now it does ~198

*Edit: I was talking about before the last patch

Someone please confirm the drag results? I can do that in 2 hours

I didn’t look at the figures but it’s certainly much faster, my 363 760R beats 996 cinque over a mile and the cinque has good MRA.

The 760RS seems to almost artificially fall off in the top end (1 mile)

Maybe the Huayra has better aerodynamics at the 200 mph mark? Or maybe it's the extra ~180 lb-ft of torque? I'm not sure.

    Some other Pagani times...

@Hutch_Tim  - not sure that is a realistic result

    760RS at 996 tune PL7.6 (top speed 226, 836hp, weight 1152)
    24.50 @ 201

    Huayra at 996 tune PL7.6 (top speed 233, 803hp, weight 1215)
    24.10 @ 211

    Pre-7.5:

    7.5:
it used to have 0-60 acceleration time of 2.6... what happened??

The traction part of the calculation was (I think) effectively considering the road to be flat. This is why cars with better traction weren't seeing as much advantage as you expected on a hill.

Not sure how much more detail we can give? Cars that already had a hill climb bonus (high ground clearance and a then any other cars that would be expected to climb well) still have it, it's just now a little stronger than it was in PL7.0.Ivo_Kamburov said:

Correct, sorry about that - the patch notes missed the fact that after our discussion with Evo we adjusted both the 0-60 (again) and the MRA.

@Hutch_Tim  So the Merc 6x6 does not have any additional hill climb bonus unique to it (contrary to the patch notes)?

Can anyone confirm if there are any RQ changes, particularly thinking of the Stealth and Lumina.

No RQ changes were mentioned by Hutch.

Neither the Stealth nor Lumina have changed RQ in-game.

    Ok Im not shocked.

I think they did say RQ changes wouldn't be made until 8.0. Maybe I'm imagining that though. Thanks for confirming @HeissRod

Possibly.  That Veyron 16.4 doesn't have the greatest MRA.

not great MRA on 1 mile with 1000hp, how can that possible be?
Veyron is broken...It was told many times and still nothing changed
